With an annual production capacity of 150,000 metric tons, Metrocem Ispat adheres to strict quality control protocols, ensuring compliance with BSTI, PWD, BUET, and global standards. 30 YEAR'S OF HERITAGE

  1. SETTING SAIL

    1988

    In 1988, the founders started their journey by establishing a Trading House of building materials. Their focus was on take advantage of the, then rapid infrastructure development phase of Bangladesh, when the building materials were one of the most essentially needed components for infrastructure development.

  2. AUGMENTATION

    2000

    In the year of 2000, the pioneers of the group established cement plant to production and supply the ever-increasing need for cement in development sector. At that time period of lesser number of cement producers in Bangladesh, the founders decided it to be prudent and economically feasible to source cement locally.

  3. COMMERCIALIZATION

    2002

    In 2002, as per the Metrocem’s senior management’s vision, the cement plant was fully operational and started to produce cement, which managed to capture significant portion of markets because of the superior quality it accompanied.

  4. MORDERNIZATION

    2005

    Due to ever-occurring introduction of technological discovery and practices, the cement production did manage to evolve itself while increasing efficiency and effectiveness. To attain these competitive advantages before they become a necessity, Metrocem overhauled and modernized their cement production process at the year of 2005.

  5. EXPANSION

    2008

    At 2008, Metrocem expanded their operations to tap into the lucrative segment of ispat manufacturing industry. Keeping alignment with the business of building materials, as their sister concern Metrocem Cement, Metrocem Ispat Limited was envisioned to perform alike in the steelworks industries.

  6. INCEPTION

    2009

    In the year of 2009, Metrocem Group decided to start Shipping business. While providing logistical support to their own functions, they found a greater need for the similar kind of support for various other businesses, which resulted into a successful venture in terms of strategic and economic.

  7. COMMENCEMENT

    2010

    2010 saw the emergence of Eco-friendly Brick manufacturing project by Metrocem Group. Their vision was to manufacture bricks with Fly Ash, Cement to minimizing the adverse environmental effect of the manufacturing process.

  8. EXPANSION

    2015

    Metrocem Miltech, established at 2015, was Metrocem Group’s great leap towards capturing more market share in building materials sectors. This concern’s function was to provide crane & mega infrastructure equipment.

State-of-the-Art-Technology

Metrocem Ispat Ltd. is equipped with state of the art technologies in all its production plants.

Direct Hot Rolling (DHR) technology.

DHR technology is one of the advanced and up to date production management technologies which is widely used by Metrocem ispat Ltd. DHR focuses on integration of green and energy-saving methodology. The conventional process of storage and cooling of the billet is mostly outdated and in DHR technology the heat from the continuous-cast billets is utilized by charging them directly into the rolling unit.

Programmable Logic Control (PLC) technology.

The programmable Logic Control technology can actively control the manufacturing process such as assembly lines, or robotic devices, or any activity that requires high reliability control.

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) based ribbing and furnishing technology

We are equipped with CNC based ribbing & furnishing technology to provide the products with a perfect finishing and cutting

Thermo Mechanical Treatment (TMT) technology

Thermo mechanical treatment (TMT), bars do not need hardening as the other ispat need twisting. No torsional stress are experienced in TMT technology and thus no surface defects in TMT bars are formed.

Automatic Cooling Bed (ACB) technology

ACB technology is integrated into manufacturing plants to assure uniform cooling of the TMT bars after production.

Chemical Analysis Technology

The chemical testing includes all the standard chemical testing for raw materials in order to achieve a full picture of the chemical structures and concentrations of the components in a sample.

Universal Testing Technology

A universal testing machine (UTM) is also known as a universal tester. Materials testing machine or materials test frame, is used to test the tensile strength and compressive strength of materials in the sample. Using the machine, UTM technology is integrated in the manufacturing plants.
